Matthias Litzmann, LPC

Matthias believes therapy should be a practical, down-to-earth, and collaborative process focused on creating real, lasting change.  His approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), with a strong emphasis on personal responsibility and present-focused change, Specializing in working with substance use, anger, and negative behavioral patterns, he also has experience supporting clients with trauma, depression, and other high-acuity mental health challenges across inpatient, outpatient, and virtual settings.

Influenced by SMART Recovery principles, Matthias helps clients identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thinking, and make intentional choices that align with their values. He balances empathy with accountability, creating a space where clients feel supported while also being challenged to grow. His goal is to help clients build practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create a more stable and fulfilling life.
