Social Anxiety Therapy Group in San Antonio

This group is designed for anyone wanting to overcome social anxiety, learn skills for making new connections, or improve relationships. The group provides a space to work with others toward these goals. Our primary objectives will be to learn about anxiety and its effects on the brain and body, challenge our thinking, and practice new skills.

What To Expect

Initially, this group will be closed, meaning that no new members will be allowed to join once we start. We will plan for 6-12 participants to be in the group. After 8 weeks of a structured, closed group, we will open the group to new members and the group will follow a less structured format thereafter if you wish to continue.

As with individual therapy, being an active participant will help you get the most out of the group. This means being open and honest, challenging your thinking, and exploring your emotions. The group will sometimes be more structured, with prompts, writing assignments, and activities. Other times we will follow a less structured approach which we call Processing. In a process group, we will focus on the here-and-now. We will talk about how we relate to one another (using feedback), our experiences, and our thoughts.
